Ingredients

Calcium Carbonate, Dextrose Monohydrate, More than 10 million CFU/ml of naturally occurring, indigenous, safe bacteria (Bacillus spp).

Directions for use

Add and mix into the animal’s drinking water, or sprinkle over food.

Dogs/Cats: 1/2 teaspoon daily

Hamsters/Rodents: 1/4 teaspoon daily

Birds/Poultry: 1 teaspoon per litre of drinking water.

Horses: 1 teaspoon for ponies, 2 teaspoons for adult horses daily

Cattle: 1/2 teaspoon for calves, 1 teaspoon for adult cattle daily

Sheep: 1/4 teaspoon for lambs, 1/2 teaspoon for adult sheep daily

Pigs: 1/2 teaspoon for piglets, 1 teaspoon for adult pigs daily

Bulk Feed: 100g per 100kg feed daily

I’ve tried the rest, now I’ve got the best!

I have used probiotics for my dogs for years. Then I tried Defend, what a revelation! I can honestly say, they are a cut above the rest. The best by far. Our Jack Russel has suffered from colic for year, even when we fed him the right diet, he still got it. Now, since they are on Defend, he hasn’t had an episode yet. Our Ridgeback is 7 years old. She didn’t want to go for walks anymore and she just lacked energy overall and she battled to get up when she was laying down. Since she is using Defend she is a different dog. She plays with the other dogs again and when I take them for their walks, she is running around and paying, just like she used to. If you love and care for your dog, use Defend!

I haven’t been using this for very long, so the full benefits may not yet be noticeable, but I can say that my dogs appear healthy and happy, and I will definitely continue to give them a daily dose of these probiotics knowing how excellent and thoroughly researched Mrs Martin’s products are.

An essential supplement for pets

Lize very kindly sent me a second tin, after she saw my review about the struggle to open the first one. I'm happy to report that there was NO issue opening the second tin. My dogs love this product, and when I run out, they sulk a bit and don't want their food without it. So I will now be ordering the large size. My 13 year old toy pom has shown a dramatic improvement in her overall health. It's a wonderful feeling to see a fur baby regain their vitality in their old age. This is now an essential in our house.

Essential for my pets

I love this probiotic, and how easy it is to administer. I sprinkle half a teaspoon over their pellets in the morning, and they seem to really enjoy the taste! My dogs are 14, 13 and 8, and enjoy reasonably good health, but struggle with itchy skins - as so many dogs in our humid summers do. I'm hoping this probiotic will help with this. I only have one request - please could you put the smaller product in a glass jar with a lid? My dad and I struggled for ages to open the container. He eventually came right using various clamps and other tools in his garage. (Accompanied by much muttering and discontent!) It is literally impossible to open the tin by hand. I'm sure the larger container is easier as it has a screw on lid. But please, you will need to rethink the packaging for this smaller one. I will post another review once my dogs have been on it for at least a month. It's still early days, but I'm happy with it and will order again.
