For good results, your dishwasher needs soft water with low amounts of lime to prevent spots of white lime scale appearing on utensils and inhibit glass corrosion. In South Africa most water is hard, so salt is required to protect your machine from lime scale and assist with the water softening process within the machine. This salt conveniently comes in a paper bag lined with bioplastic (PLA) which makes it fully biodegradable and compostable! Easy re-sealing is possible with the tin-tie.
