Dry hands from overuse of alcohol-based sanitiser? Meet our eco friendly, oil based sanitiser for hands and surfaces. Originally developed for children’s hands, this mild sanitiser is perfect for those times you just need an alcohol-free alternative.

Although we at Mrs Martin’s Microbes and More see microbes as friends, we realise there are situations in life when you don’t have soap and water available and the only option is to sanitise. Read more about why we do not use alcohol in our sanitiser here.

  • This sanitiser contains essential oils at concentrations that have been shown to kill most microbes, while not contributing to the development of antimicrobial resistance.
  • The oils are absorbed quickly and leave hands soft and moisturised. Because it does not evaporate quickly, it stays in contact with microbes longer which gives it a higher chance to kill it.
  • As with all our products, we have not included high VOCs in this sanitiser. Alcohol is a high Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and cannot be used for earth friendly products.
  • THIS IS A NON-ALCOHOL BASED SANITISER.

Thank you for choosing packaging that contains less plastic. This 500ml aluminium bottle can be refilled for years, and is very easy to recycle at the end of its life.

Lemon grass oil, Polysorbate 20, Tea tree oil, Peppermint oil, Biodegradable colourant.

Directions for use

Ideal for use on hands and surfaces. Hands: spray minimal amount onto hands and rub together. Surfaces: spray onto surface and wipe with microfiber cloth. For surfaces that must not get too much moisture, such as your cell phone, spray onto a microfiber cloth and wipe the surface.

Fantastic product

Dear Mrs Martin, I want to congratulate you on your Alcohol-Free Sanitizer. It is meant for sanitizing hands, but I tried it somewhere else. Our house has a problem with bad odours coming from the drainage pipes in our bathrooms and kitchen. After trying several things to combat the really bad smell coming from the showers, baths, hand-wash basins and kitchen sinks, I poured some sanitizer down every hole. It works! Now, I sanitize our drains as soon as I notice any bad odour! Thank you, Mrs Martin for this fantastic product! God bless you and your wonderful products.

messy dispenser

Hi there,

I'm very sorry to rate this product so poorly but the dispenser is so messy that I hardly use it. I like the smell but the fact that I have to clean up around the bottle each time I squirt a portion is a real problem in my eyes. Otherwise I love all your products :-)

Dear Meret, we appreciate honest feedback. Thank you for taking the time to write. We are aware that the black lotion pump we are currently using on our SANITISE 500ml is not the ideal pump. Due to the huge spike in demand for sanitiser recently, not a single supplier in South Africa has the medical long nose pump we usually use, in stock. As an interim measure we use the lotion pump. We hope to soon be able to get stock of the long nose pump that you see on our website.

Instruksies op die bottel is '''spray minimal''. Daar is geen manier hoe jy "n minimal hoeveelheid kan sprei nie. die gevolg gaan wees dat so "n bottel nie baie lank gaan hou nie wat dit taamlik duur maak. Die inhoud ruik ok.

Hi Gerhard, jy is heeltemal reg. Ons moes pompe op die bottels sit wat heelteml te veel spuit, omdat die langneuspompe wat ons eintlik gebruik, uit voorraad was in die harwar voor die grendelstaat. Ons vra om verskoning daarvoor. Sodra ons dit weer in die hande kan kry sal ons weer die regte pompe gebruik. Intussen is jy welkom om na ons hervulopsies vir SANITISE te kyk - dit werk aansienlik goedkoper uit.
