Mrs Martin’s Triple Green Paper Towels | Delft Chickens

R65.00

Pretty hand towels towels are hard to find. But now you can wipe, mop and buff with peace of mind. Mrs Martin’s sustainable paper towels are made from a by-product of sugarcane farming, called bagasse. Bagasse is the fibrous parts of the sugar cane that is left after the sweet juice of the cane has been pressed out. It is a renewable resource that creates a soft but strong paper.

The lovely delft chickens were painted by a proudly South African illustrator, Mareli van Zyl. This is one in a series of five designs she made especially for Mrs Martin’s.

SAPPI sources from local suppliers, many of whom are previously disadvantaged small sugarcane growers. This socially responsible practice also avoids the greenhouse emissions of long-distance transport. Unlike wood fibre, bagasse does not need to be chipped so this process is energy-efficient. Not cutting down many trees for these paper towels, conserves resources.

These paper towels are also biodegradable, acid-free and recyclable.

Benefits:

• sourced from local suppliers

• energy-efficient

• conserving resources through the use of alternative fibre

• protecting nature with a paper that is biodegradable, acid-free and recyclable

• promoting sustainability by using FSC-certified wood fibre and paper produced in South Africa

Mrs Martin’s uses only SAPPI Triple Green paper for our hand towels.  This is an excellent choice for disposable hand towels due to its numerous environmental and practical benefits. Made from sugarcane waste fibre (bagasse), this paper is not only sustainable but also highly efficient.

Here are some key advantages:
Sustainability

Sappi Triple Green paper is made from bagasse, a by-product of sugarcane processing. Bagasse is the fibrous parts of the sugar cane that is left after the sweet juice of the cane has been pressed out. It is a renewable resource that creates a soft but strong paper. Using bagasse means it doesn’t involve cutting down as many trees, conserving valuable forest resources. Additionally, the production process is elemental chlorine-free, reducing harmful environmental impacts.

Energy Efficiency

Unlike wood fibre, bagasse does not need to be chipped, making the production process more energy-efficient. This results in lower greenhouse gas emissions and a smaller carbon footprint.

Biodegradability and Recyclability

Sappi Triple Green paper is biodegradable and recyclable, making it an environmentally friendly option. This means that after use, the paper towels can break down naturally without harming the environment.

Strength and Absorbency

Despite being made from alternative fibres, Sappi Triple Green paper towels are strong and highly absorbent. This makes them suitable for various applications, from home and office use to medical and hospitality settings.

Support for Local Communities

Sappi sources its bagasse from local suppliers, many of whom are small sugarcane growers. This supports local economies and promotes social responsibility by providing income to previously disadvantaged communities.

Cost-Effective

Sappi Triple Green hand towels are affordable, especially when bought in bulk. This makes them a cost-effective solution for you who are looking to reduce expenses without compromising on quality.

We commissioned a proudly South African illustrator, Mareli van Zyl to paint this design exclusively for Mrs Martin’s. We are extremely proud to partner with her and we love the final product.
